Or is it better being in a quiet room and just talking to him..?

Sitting in a quiet room works better for ne. Bur God does not dwell in temples made by man. Which means, I believe, that He'll take our prayers any way He can get them. As long as they are, to sone extent, in spirit and in truth.

God listens to a sincere heart, no matter where it is. You however may hear him clearer with no distractions.
