Psalm 130:

Out of the depths I have cried to You, O LORD;
Lord, hear my voice!
Let Your ears be attentive
To the voice of my supplications.
If You, LORD, should mark iniquities,
I Lord, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with You,
That You may be feared.
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,
And in His word I do hope.
My soul waits for the Lord
More than those who watch for morning.
I Israel, hope in the LORD;
For with the LORD there is mercy,
And with Him is abundant redemption.
And He shall redeem Israel
From all his iniquities.

Sometimes it seems as though God is holding His breath, watching us stumble forward through the dark night.

A night of heartfelt prayer, as we face the mountain before us. We want to trust God, but in the silence we are prone to imagine all kinds of things because we cannot see any of the details we desperately long for Him to unveil!

We often complain the way God leads us. For one, He seems to enjoy waiting till the last second to act or reveal His plans. He asks us to walk completely by faith, trusting Him for the path ahead as He makes the path bright enough to follow step by step.

We are to wait upon the Lord even in the midst of the unknown future. But God is the God of the future as well as the present and the past. He will bring the future to the present in His time.

Out of the depths I cried out to You the psalmist said, and hear his voice. Day after day, night after night I have done this. Praying in prayerful believing faith.

This is one of my favorite psalms! I find comfort in the words written. Yes there is forgiveness with God,and His mercy is ever before us. True repentance comes from God and works itself out in faith.

The bible says without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

Genuine faith, conformity to the word, and right motivation pleases God!

Although we at times fear the unknown. We cannot accuse God of being unfair and making us go through the wait. He is not cruel, He has a purpose! But this is only what waiting feels like when we're waiting for things, and not the Lord Himself!

Psalm 130 is a desperate hope in the dark. "Out of the depths I cry to You," this is suffering and surrender to the Lord. In this condition is probably the best to be in.

His eyes are fixed on God! "I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope," I wait for the Lord more than the watchmen wait for the morning" vs.5-6.

When your hope is in Him rather than the things you desire from Him, you no longer need to fear the wait, or the risk of hope. Walking in the dark isn't pleasant, but we will ever learn more in the dark than we will in the sunshine.

Our prayers are never denials for with the delay comes the God who works for our good Romans 8:28.
