Prayer Request


Please help no one in my family understands me when my mom's friend was telling my mom about an acting class that puts on plays and my mom's mind jumped to my younger sister and I wanted to cry because acting and singing has always been my dream and when I told her this she said that my younger sister is a better singer but last night one of my youth leaders said I should try out for the youth band and I just don't know what to do. My mom doesn't support any of my dreams such as when I grow up I want to own the worlds largest homeless shelter with my best friend and when I told her she said it probably wouldn't happen. It seems like i cant do anything right and shes ALWAYS saying everything i do wrong and the one time I stook up for myself just a little bit to see how she would react before telling her how u felt completely she started yelling at me. So I know I can't tell her how I really feel. Right now I just want to cry, but I can't because when I do I feel melodramatic and then I can't cry any more unless I force it which doesn't help. I haven't told my mom any of this. Please help and leave comments. I don't know what to do.

You sound like a very smart and strong individual. Never let up on living your dreams. Your faith in God and yourself will ensure that they will come true. I don't know why your mom is shooting down your dreams. I am sorry she is acting that way as it is painful for you. But please hang in there because it will all be worth it someday :)

Follow what God places in your heart and the talents He has graced you with. Pray for guidance in your decisions. Offer the pain your Mom causes you for God's Glory and confess your forgiveness of your Mom's hurting words. I believe she loves you as much as she does your sister, but may not be quite aware of your talents. If what you decide to do after prayer is what God wants you to follow, He will also open her eyes and heart to what your future will turn out to be. He will work on your behalf if you give Him your full trust in the designs of your future. God bless you.
