Remind God of His Promise:

Genesis 32:9-12;
And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, O LORD who said to me, "Return to your country and to your kindred, that I may do you good," I am not worthy of the least of all the deeds of the steadfast love and all the faithfulness that you have shown to your servant, for with only my staff I crossed this Jordan, and now I have become two camps. Please deliver me from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau, for I fear him, that he may come and attack me, the mothers with children. But You said, "I will surely do you good, and make your offspring as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude. (ESV)

Jacobs prayer was humble and firm in God's promises, that God had made throughout the preceding chapters. Here Jacob prayed to God "Save me, I pray, from the hand of his brother" v.11, and he appealed to God's promise, "You have said, "I will surely make you prosper and will make your descendants like the sand of the sea." v.12

This is the sure way of prevailing with the LORD in prayer. We may humbly remind Him of what He has said. Our faithful God will never run back from His word, nor will He leave it unfulfilled; Yet He loves to be enquired of by His people and put in mind of His promise. This is refreshing to their memories, reviving to faith, and renewing to their hope.

God's word is given, not for His sake, but for ours. His purposes are settled, and He needs nothing to bind Him to His design of doing His people good; but He gives the promise for our strengthening and comfort. Hence He wishes us to plead it and say to Him, "You said."

What are the promises you are holding on to? Are you humbly standing firm as Jacob was in God word "You said."

Mine is Jeremiah 29:11. Years ago I became divorced, not of my choosing. I lost my home and family. Even thou I still see my children it is not the same. In my darkest hour this scripture pop out as I read the bible and prayer.

I believe by faith in God promise! It's been 15 years and still holding on to His promise. One day I'll be married again and a home to share with my loved ones. May God's will be done!

Have you been so hung up on trying to figure out why adversity has come your way that perhaps you have missed God? Has the adversity in your life strengthened your faith or has it weakened your faith? Adversity is a reality that none of us can avoid. Therefore, it is in your best interest to begin responding in such a way that the negative can be used to accomplish the will of God in your life. And as you begin responding correctly, perhaps you will begin to understand why.

Oftentimes, the explanations we are so desperately seeking will become clear as we respond properly to adversity. We wait in faith, we wait in patience, we wait in hope.

Those times of fears should be times of prayer. Whatever frightens us, should drive us to our knees, to our God. God is in the process of engineering circumstances through which He can reveal Himself to each of us. And History as well as our personal testimonies bear witness to the fact that it is in times of adversity that we come to a greater realization of God's incredible faithfulness to us!

When the Devil sees a man or woman who really believes in prayer. Who knows how to pray, and who really does pray, and above all when he sees a whole Church on it's face before God in prayer, "He trembles" because there is power in prayer. In the book of Acts you see the early Church prayed steadfastly and there was power!

On this prayer app, we come as a Church united in prayer! We pray for others, and for ourselves. We let our requests be made unto God our Father. We encourage each other to trust God and His promises.

Our delays in our prayers are never denials. In heaven there is no confusion only plans! As Jacob did we humbly remind God of His promise. And wait for His unfolding in His time according to His will! Keep pushing!
