Prayer Request

Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods. But now that you know God---or rather are known by God---how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? (Galatians 4:8-9).

We have all heard the saying, "It's not what you know, but who you know." Well that is not always the case. Jesus stated that not everyone who cried Lord Lord would enter in; and that many would come saying that they did certain things in His name, but He would say He never knew them. All of those people felt comfortable, they did the weakly (weekly) church routine thing. But they never forged a personal relationship with Him for whatever reason: whether fear, or embarrassment, or intimidation. Works did nothing to help their case, neither did their claims of friendship. The only thing that sufficed was a personal relationship, not excuses, not false claims. Claims that God 'understand' is only an excuse and it will not stand. How are you building a relationship with God today?

Our Heavenly Father, forgive us for the times that we took Your mercy and Your grace for granted. Help us to build a lasting relationship with You so that we may hear on that great day, "Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world." In Jesus name we pray, amen.
