Prayer Request

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer (Romans 12:12).

Here are three simple instructions to follow, be joyful, be patient, and be faithful. Simple right? Well, if all your plans are going right and things are as they should be, then yes nothing to it. But the truth is, that is not how the real world works, there are curve balls, punches below the belt and ships that never come in. Proverbs 13 says, "Hope deferred makes the heart sick..." And there are a lot of Christians walking around with sick hearts feeling disillusioned with their walk and life in general. This maybe where you are at, or at least heading there at a high rate of speed, and you may not actually receive all that is on your wish list. But I want you to remember this world is not our home nor do we belong to it. It is passing away quickly and will soon be gone with all its temporary glory and all its pomp. Then all that will be left is God, and the eternal, and all of His glory. These are the things that will last: The everlasting presence of God, streets of gold, joy unspeakable and full of glory, the things worth waiting for. So consider the real truth, eternity is a long time and we will spend it one of two places depending on how we prepare now. It is not easy, but it will be worth it, so don't focus on the here and now look to what will come and overcome.

Heavenly Father, our burdens are heavy and the yoke is hard, so come to our rescue and relieve the stress of life and ease the pain of disappointment. Help us to understand that there is an adversary out there (the evil one), making things seem worse that they are and making our lives seem hopeless. Remind us that our hope is in You and not the government or even this world, but it is in You and You alone. And those who put their hope in You will never be put to shame. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
