Prayer Request

The Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:5-15):

And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues (the house of worship of a Jewish congregation) at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I (Jesus) say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.

Pray then like this (Pray in this way):

Our Father in Heaven
Hallowed be your Name,
Your Kingdom come,
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Gives us this day our daily bread, (God's provision)
And forgive us our debts, (Our sins)
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil. (ESV)

Matthew 6, is a powerful chapter! First it talks about:

1. Giving to the needy.
2. The Lord's Prayer (Model).
3. Fasting.
4. Lay Up Treasures in Heaven.
5. Do Not Be Anxious.

Jesus is making profound statements! But in the Lord's prayer He presents the way we should come in prayer (Pray Like This).

The Prayer is composed of six requests. The first three ask for the Kingdom to come ( Lifts our thoughts to the Heavenly Father). And the last three for God to meet the needs of His people (God's provision).

During our times in the most difficult situations that confront us. We need to focus on God. He knows what we need before we ask Him! He is aware of our circumstances! The promise of God is that He brings good out of everything that befalls us! But the point is this, the work of God will be revealed in us, whatever He wills, not ours! He knows what is best for us. He sees the whole picture! In His time and in His way!
He knows the beginning and the end!

Open your eyes to God's faithfulness and open your heart to all the lessons He longs to teach you through your circumstances. Suffering teaches us to depend upon His grace and goodness. We are tested in our faith, and we grow in our devotion to Him. When we are hurting it is hard to be strong in faith, and in devotion. It is easy to believe in God, it is not so easy to believe God. Patience is a key to spiritual adulthood. At times we need to ask for wisdom. We must trust God in the midst of pain. James 1:2-5.
God is working in our pain. To them that have no might, He increases strength. It is designed to bring about refining in our life. The purpose of our trials is sanctification to be conformed to Christ!

In adversity, our souls are inclined to prayer, we pray harder that any other time. With more fervor. Faith will be put to the test! Our character will be strengthen! When you are cast down, then you will say, there is lifting up, but God divine hand, veiled and invisible to all, but the eye of faith, it shapes and directs the whole and assured of this, the believing Christian soul is trustful and calm! Read Psalms 130:1. Our souls wait for the Lord! The path of a Christian is not always bright with sunshine. It has it's seasons of darkness and of storm. At certain periods clouds cover the believer's sun, and he walks in darkness and see no light. We must bear the cross!

In God's school, ask God to be your teacher, God's school of spiritual learning. God gives understanding in what to do. Think as God thinks, when you study His word. The mind has to be exercised when it comes to faith! It is not emotional response. It is believing what He says! The Lord's prayer was an example to us by our Lord Jesus Christ in how to pray. His Kingdom come, His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven! God's provision is there also, whether spiritual or material, He will meet our needs according to His will.

Keep praying! P.U.S.H. (Pray Until Something Happens!). Our delays are never denials, in Heaven there is no confusion only plans!
