Prayer Request

Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, "Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?" But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away (Mark 16:2-4).

Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome were on their way to Jesus' grave to anoint His body with spices. As they went along the question arose, "Who will roll that very large sealed stone that is guarded by Roman soldiers away?" The answer was not forthcoming, but despite the odds of a failed mission, these women were on an "anointing mission" themselves and refused to let stones, large or small, stand in their way of success. How often we give up because we anticipate large stones blocking our entry and spoiling our success? But the two Marys and Salome would not let those thoughts or unanswered variables keep them from their God-given mission. When they arrived they found that their fears and worries were already taken care of. If faith can move a mountain, then a little big stone has no chance. The LORD has risen, and we're on a mission, and yes there may be a stone blocking our way, but our God is still able to do exceedingly, abundantly above that which we ask or even think. Let's have faith that He can and will roll away the stones that block the success of our mission.

My Heavenly Father, I give You thanks for this new day filled with new chances and new mercies. Thank You that You are a stone-moving and a mountain-moving God, and that You will move them for me. LORD grant me the faith to continue the journey even when it seems pointless, and help me with my unbelief in times of hardships. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
