God who teaches us faith:
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1, ESV)
Assurance: Greek hypostasis, also translated "confidence." By defining faith (Gk. Pistis) as "assurance" and "conviction" the author of Hebrews indicates that biblical faith is not a vague hope grounded in imaginary, wishful thinking. Instead, faith is a settled confidence that something in the future-something is not yet seen but has been promised by God-will actually come to pass because God will bring it about.
Also in Hebrews 11:6 says; And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.
Faith believes in God's existence and especially in God's trustworthiness to keep His promise to reward his followers.
To apply our faith is to live as if God will keep His promises.
Living faith is all about taking God at His Word.
We must become familiar with God's promises to us. The bible is filled with promises for believers. What an encouragement to us when we read them in the bible.
Most people who are disappointed with God misunderstand what faith is. To them, faith is some sort of power or force. They think if they have enough faith, God will do whatever they ask Him. So when a crisis comes along, they try to move God into action through their faith. When God doesn't respond, they become disappointed.
Their misunderstandings lead to unrealistic expectations. And their expectations eventually lead to disappointment.
Faith is trusting in the confident hope that God will do what He has promised. Faith is not an escape hatch from all the trials and tribulations in this life. It is confidence He will keep His promises.
The God who teaches us to rely on Him, to trust Him for our life. Will never disappoint.
Trust God and His promises. Do not be anxious for your life.
Faith is always tested for 3 reasons:
1.To prove whether our faith is real.
2. To help our faith grow.
3. To bring glory to the Lord.
How many times have we cried out to the Father in desperation?
Where it leads us to depend in Him.
Faith will take us to a place were we are not sure of, but faith trusts in the one who brought us to that place.
The economy is bad right now. Has effected many people and businesses. People out of work for awhile. And more coming. Sometimes I wonder if God is judging America for it's sins. There is alot of greed going on. It has forgotten God and is becoming more and more sinful. Just an observation that's all. But still we are going through bad times. We need to trust in God to get us through this. Strengthen us through whatever trial we are experiencing right now.
Do you trust God enough to take you to a place where He knows is best for you. He hears our cries! God will deliver us from adversity.
Do not fear! Fear will blind us. Fear will have us running around and be out of control. So why not go to Jesus in our desperation. And rest in Him. We don't know what tomorrow will bring. But God is in control, and that is our comfort. Don't worry about tomorrow, but look to the one who will bring the future to the present. Fear not tomorrow, because God is already there. Look up to heaven. There is no panic there. He is sovereign and is in control. God is preparing goodness and mercy.
