Prayer Request

When Haman saw that Mordecai would not kneel down or pay him honor, he was enraged. Yet having learned who Mordecai’s people were, he scorned the idea of killing only Mordecai. Instead Haman looked for a way to destroy all Mordecai’s people, the Jews throughout the whole kingdom of Xerxes (Esther 3:5-6).

In the book of Esther Haman is called the Agagite because he was a descendant of Agag king of the Amalekites. Now in Exodus 17 the Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim in the desert. In verse 15 it states that the LORD will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation. Therefore, Mordecai - being a Jew - could not bow down and pay him honor, he had to stand with God. It is not always popular, nor does it seem beneficial, in fact it can be life threatening. But read the end of the story. Mordecai stayed faithful and believed God for a deliverance and in the end not only did what Haman plan to do to Mordecai fall back on himself, but Mordecai was put in charge of the entire Haman estate after Haman's death. I am fully persuaded that God will work evergthing to our good if we remain faithful and not give in too soon, or compromise for comfort, self-indulgence or pleasure/entertainment. We as God's people too quickly and easily side with the open enemies of God because of who they are and the prestige they tote.

Dear Heavenly Father, please give Your people the ability, the strength, the determination and the zeal to trust and obey You, and to be faithful to the call to which they have been called. Don't let the bright shiny stars of Hollywood blind them to compromise, neither let comfort or self-indulgence cloud their better judgment. LORD, and after they've done all to stand let them stand with the full armour of God on. And repay them generously for their good stand. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
